There are many misconceptions about dreadlocks such as: all dreadlocks are dirty, you can't wash dreadlocks, anyone with dreadlocks is dirty, only black people can have dreadlocks, dreadlocks damage your scalp, and dreadlocks are for Rastas only. None of these are true.
Some dreadlocks can be dirty and some people with dreadlocks are dirty, but the majority of dreadlocks and persons with locks are clean and do in fact wash their locks with natural shampoos or something similar, in turn also ensuring a healthy and clean scalp. With all the above information and through observation of the many varieties of people today with dreadlocks is obvious that not only black people can have locks nor are they for Rastas only

How often do i have to do my regrowth
If your dreads are important to you and you want to keep them healthy and well maintain and easy to manage every 3 months, never let it go longer than 6 months, otherwise they start to dread together and tangle at the roots! and it will cost you more to get fixed ANYWHERE, spend a little every 3 months and save yourself hundreds and hours down the track
I want my regrowth done but i dont want my scalp visible can you do that?

My Dreads need re-sectioning can you do that for me??

Do you do Beards, Rats tails, Goatees?
YES we do it all, A Beard is a mere $50 same for Goatees and sideburns and yes we can make Hasidic Curls (and again no it doesnt hurt) Get your Rats Tail done for $20, we can even dread wigs for you!

We come to you, kids and pets arent a bother so no need to find a sitter. If we cant do it at your place, we can do it at ours, or a friends, We have done jobs on lunchbreaks, in Hotel rooms, Dorm Rooms, shopping centre's!, at the beach

Dreadlocks religiously speaking have dated back to King Solomon and before, in ancient times when people sought to give up Worldly pleasures and seek out the lord they became dreaded. When people would ask or seek to make a deal with God they became dreaded, its part of the Nazarite vow. For intance Women use to take the vow so that they would conceive, or marry, or dream of what their children would become. Men took the vow to ensure their crops, or good hunting, protection from evil etc over time. Dreadlocks hence over time came to be seen or attributed to devout or holy people. Also it comes from GOD Himself!
And The Lord said to Moses, "Say to the people of Israel, When either a man or a woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to The Lord, he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink; he shall drink no vinegar made from wine or strong drink, and shall not drink any juice of grapes or eat grapes, fresh or dried. All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is produced by the grapevine, not even the seeds or the skins. All the days of his vow of separation no razor shall come upon his head; until the time is completed for which he separates himself to The Lord, he shall be holy; he shall let the locks of hair of his head grow long. All the days that he separates himself to The Lord he shall not go near a dead body. Ive Been looking into the Nazarite stuff and you mention "offerings" whats that all about (thanks again K Stalder)
When the period of the vow ended, the Nazarite then burned his or her shaven hair and presented a number of offerings to God (A cow and a Sheep that were slaughtered, prepared and fed to the homeless and poor, its also known as "Sadaka" (Numbers 6:10-21). One was an offering for forgive of sins and the other was for blessings

Okay we get where your coming from, and respect it. However we highly disagree. Okay all Religion, History, Beliefs etc aside, you are still wrong. consider this if you will; Think of those who are dreaded for life, their hair was with them their whole lives, thick and thin, good and bad etc and the only thing with them when they die, their dreads will actually outlive them! as the mummified dreads on this site show and prove! that is significant and important. What is a dreadlock, yes its matted hair, but its also your dead fallen out hair trapped within. In this day and age we all know we use hair to test for Drugs, we also study hair and learn When a person lived, Where they lived, the climate. We can tell where a person travelled to, where they lived, how much time they spent somewhere, what they ate, basically everything!. Your Dreadlocks are a physical record of your life, a living diary so to speak. if you have them Ryan just think about your own, think about when you got them, what you have suffered for them, where you have been with them, they will be with you when friends and family die, the hair they touched is still with you!, when you marry they are with you, Divorce, the birth of your Children!, Graduations, everything!! We hope tis has given you something to think about and hopefully now you can respect and accept another perspective!. Thanks for the debate question!
